Review - Aurora Burning by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff | SPOILERS

Ok, first off, let's get this out of my system - KAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL!

Alright, now that's done, let's get on to the review, but before I go on:

    Right, you've been warned.

Before I started this bad boy, I decided to do a re-read of Aurora Rising, and now, since subjecting myself to this absolute wonder, I can safely say that Aurora Rising is now a 4.5 starrer because this - THIS BOOK - is definitely a 5 star.

My heart the entire time... dear. god.

Right, so, Kal is my new favourite, and if it turns out that the K's have actually truly killed him off, I might just scream. And scare the neighbours.

I loved everything about this book - I loved the character development of each of the characters, I loved the action, I loved the story, and I loved how now they really have me hooked and I'll be waiting  eagerly for book 3 to come out, because I need it, like, yesterday.

Also, I loved Saedii as a bad guy and the build up of the Starslayer (aka Kal's a-hole dad). You can tell that they really believe they're right and it's just an all-round bad time for anyone who isn't them.

Despite the fact that I pretty much saw every plot turn and twist coming (save for the whole Tyler and Scarlett being half-Syldrathi), I'm not even mad about it. I had so much fun reading this that this isn't even an issue. I actually enjoyed trying to figure out what was going to happen next based on little easter eggs dropped here and there that it actually made it that much better to read.

I'm not even mad about the ending - it was awesome and written in such a cool way, and as an author, I totally get leaving your audience hanging in the best/worst possible way. If you haven't read this series yet, what are you even doing with your life?

But once again - KAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!! Where's my fanart so I can get my Kal fix?
