Review - The Royally Series by Emma Chase | No Spoilers

I listened to book 1 - 3 of this series (albeit in the wrong order 2,3,1 - oops) and I had the most fun with these books. They're the sexy kind of romance, so usually I don't expect much beyond the regular tropes of this genre, but I was pleasantly surprised. Usually these types of books are plagued with the 'misunderstanding' trope or the 'miscommunication' trope, which generally annoys the absolute bejeesus out of me, but these held off on that, instead heading in directions I found actually believable for relationships as crazy as these three.

Without going into spoilers, I loved the characters - they felt flawed and real, and even though I can't attest to knowing what being in a relationship with a royal would be like, I could imagine it would be as crazy as they are written in these books!

The banter was fun and the relationship building was great, even if it was lust-at-first-sight for the most (which, let's be honest, is what these types of books are known for!) but they weren't insta-relationships either. Plus the main guys made me want to smack them for being so stupid at times, which is great - they weren't perfect hotties.

The only thing that annoyed me in these books was Sarah and her naivety when it came to relationships. I understand that she was pretty inexperienced, but my god, the jealousy on that girl. Such a dumb ass at times.

Overall, these were lots of fun, steamy but cute, and who doesn't love a good romp to break up the more serious genres!
